More hopping and moving with poetry!

We've been so thrilled with the response to our new poetry anthology, HOP TO IT: POEMS TO GET YOU MOVING!

We're so pleased that readers are finding that moving with poems can be fun and we love helping to launch several brand new poets into the publishing world! Here are some more of our hopping poets!

We'd like to share a few more poem gems for you to enjoy, as well as a glimpse at a bit more of the backmatter. Enjoy! Here's a poem to help you move a bit while seated at your desk!

And here's another poem to help you move while sitting!

And here's one activity from the backmatter in HOP TO IT: POEMS TO GET YOU MOVING:

TIC TAC TOE

For 2-5 players: One person chooses poems to read, while others mark an image on their Tic Tac Toe card in a box that corresponds to that poem. Continue until someone fills a row and shouts TIC TAC TOE!

You'll find 100 poems to read, share, and MOVE to in HOP TO IT. More info to come...

Now, head on over to Jama's Alphabet Soup where she is hosting our Poetry Friday gathering as only she can! And for more about HOP TO IT, check out the next stops on our blog tour!

These Hop to It! poems are so uplifting and energizing. Had to smile at "boogie your bottom." :D I guess I know what I'll be doing this afternoon . . .

They are all such fun, Sylvia. My youngest granddaughter went back to her school this week & we all hope it "holds" for her, missing it very much. And she is a wiggler, will love this "deskersize"! Congratulations again. Everyone will love this to add to the strange year of schooling!

I wish I had this book when I was teaching. The poems and activities make an excellent resource for parents and teachers.

HOP To IT is filled with such magical read aloud moments, Sylvia. The Tic Tac Toe Board is a fun activity for children encouraging fluency and dramatic presentations. Anything I can do to publicize your book, I will do.

Kids love to move and "poetry breaks" where you can hop to it at your desk will be so much fun!! And inspire some new poems kids could create on this theme. I will be bringing it with me every time I sub (maybe not till next year, but eventually!). One of my friends is getting a copy for her third grade!!

I bought this book and have enjoyed reading what each poet has done. My sister is helping to home-school her grandsons. She describes days when they have trouble sitting still. They need to be active and this book looks perfect.

Thanks, friends, for your kind words! We love hearing how practical and useful you think HOP TO IT can be! That is our goal!

This is just so fun. I remember reading it before I donated blood. They had quite the play list and I felt myself chair dancing.

I have enjoyed these fun exercise poems and other poems you have shared! The Tic Toe game is spot on for teachers, students, and parents! Congratulations to both of you on a great and timely poetry book. It's so nice to see new poets published, whom I know from their blogs! This book is sure to be a big hit.
