But you may not know that each of our books (in the Teacher/Librarian edition) also features some front and back matter that we hope will help the adult reader with tips, lists, and guidelines on selecting and sharing poetry with all kinds of kids. For example, we always include a bibliography of OTHER poetry books that are connected to the topic of the book, so we can get kids reading even MORE poetry!
In the back of The Poetry Friday Anthology for Celebrations, you'll find a list of other poetry books full of occasional poems and poems for various holidays and celebrations. Here is that list just for you.

Sylvia, Congratulations to you and Janet on another PFA! I love that this one is in both English and Spanish.
Your bibliographies astound!
Happy almost Poetry Month...
Every once in a while my daughter still throws birthday parties for her stuffed animals. (She keeps track of all of their birthdays in a birthday book– I'm lucky if I manage to keep track of all their names!) Let the good times roll...
Why am I not surprised that the lady with the crazy tights was also the mother who found every reason to celebrate?!?
Thanks, Amy, Michelle, and Mary Lee-- appreciate your swinging by and offering your sweet comments! Love the idea of a birthday party of stuffed animals too! And wore more crazy tights today, Mary Lee!
Hugs all around,
Sylvia
VARDELL AND WONG POWER STRIKES AGAIN!
Hi,
I am subbing today. My comment from yesterday for this terrific "poem come to life" in a great video did not make it on here! But I love this!! being a reciting, dramatizing promoter.
So today I shared it with the students and here is what they "said":
Mr.O's 3rd grade students enjoyed the video of Liz's poem. They loved the happy music. It was an awesome addition. They enjoyed the voices of the students. They liked how they didn't have to read it on a paper but rather memorized it. They learned that books in the library can be found by looking at the numbers. This was a fun way to get to know a poem!!
Thanks all!
