Janet (Wong) and I are jumping into a new venture-- leading online workshops! After 10 years of collaborating and 10+ anthologies of poetry published, we've learned a few things along the way. We have presented together in-person at conferences and teacher workshops MANY times and always get lots of questions about HOW we do what we do, so we thought we might use this crazy Zoom tool to share the things we have learned with others. Come join us!

One last plug for our Anthologies 101 workshop:
It makes me feel great that we've already had such FABULOUS response to this workshop! I am looking forward to the challenge of addressing the wide range of interests, from people whose primary goal is simply having one poem included in an anthology, to people who want to learn more about the financial, legal, and design aspects of putting together an indie project of their own. I also plan to talk about a couple of student anthologies that were put on Amazon to raise funds for charity. (One of them raised $1000 for the charity.) We could talk for 20 hours about anthologies-—right, Sylvia?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely true, Janet! Once we get started, it's hard to get us to STOP talking! And after 10 years of collaborating and trying all kinds of new things with every project, we have a LOT to share! I keep adding to my list! But mostly it will be so fun to connect with people who love poetry like we do and to help them in any way we can. More poets! More poetry! YES!
ReplyDeleteSo excited to be joining you for this. Thanks for this opportunity. #alwayslearning
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting opportunity! Thank you for making this available online.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing online workshop you are presenting, Sylvia and Janet. Thank you for always sharing your extensive body of knowledge.
ReplyDeleteYou two are a wellspring of creativity and knowledge!
ReplyDeleteOh, I want to very much....but, I'm back to work at school by that time. If, by any chance I could join a workshop on a weekend...or at AASL some year (hint. hint) Or after work hours, I would love to. Thank you for taking your resources to the internets. The two of you are powerhouses of creativity and encouragement and poetry. Send me a raincheck, please!
ReplyDeleteI'm teaching then as well. Please offer another during after hours or on a Saturday. Thanks!
DeleteLinda Mitchell: Please send us an email at info@pomelobooks.com because there is a slight possibility that we're going to offer a repeat session on a Saturday in September. If so, we'll let you know, OK?
ReplyDeleteI'm excited about you new venture. You two are the best!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to your offering a repeat session since I won't be able to make this one. Have fun lucky attendees!
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone, for your sweet comments and support! We're excited about trying something new and learning from all of YOU too!
ReplyDeleteI love the energy of your post and your enthusiasm for sharing all that you've learned along the way. I wish I could join in the fun, but there are few "empty" days in my August and the 12th isn't one of them. I do hope that you spread the word if you're able to offer a repeat session. Thanks for sharing the news today!
ReplyDeleteHi, Sylvia! I've just jumped back into Poetry Friday (and blogging, for that matter) after a long time, and it's so fun to see this here. Your workshop sounds great!
